In the studio today seven new mono mixes of “Magical Mystery Tour” were made. Number 7 was considered the best and was the one used in the MMT television special, with ambient sound effects added. It would be yet another mix, with additional vocal overdubs, that would eventually appear on the Magical Mystery Tour LP.
And so much for that. I just can’t stop thinking about glockenspiels. It occurred to me as I was falling asleep last night that “Glock and Spiel” would be a great name for a buddy cop show. Glock is tall and Aryan, and likes to solve problems Dirty Harry–style. Spiel is short and Semitic and believes in dialogue. Somebody get Les Moonves on the horn!
