On today’s agenda: the promotional film for “Penny Lane,” the other side of The Beatles’ upcoming single. It seems like everyone involved had a good old time; the cast and crew holed up at a pub on Angel Lane in London — not, in fact, Penny Lane — and shot some footage in between pints. (The footage of the Penny Lane sign was shot later.)
The Beatles’ YouTube channel often posts only parts of songs, but in this case they’ve deigned to favor us with the whole thing. Here we see the boys at the height of their sartorial splendor, with George the current leader in the Beatles Facial Hair Arms Race.
