Check out the June 4, 1966 issue of KRLA Beat and you will learn that:
- The Beatles’ new single does not feature a sitar.
- Paul McCartney is the most popular Beatle at 48%, with George second at 26% and John down at 24%. (Let’s politely ignore Ringo’s dismal showing.) If this seems a little odd, keep in mind that the voters in this poll were disproportionately teenage girls.

- Captain Beefheart is not actually Don Van Vliet, as we’ve mistakenly believed all these years, but Alex St. Clair. (Note: This is not true, but KRLA Beat seems to believe it. Perhaps the Captain was having a little fun with a gullible reporter?)
