Today, the day after being busted for drug possession, John and Yoko appeared in court. I don’t think they had to spend the night in jail — this grainy footage:
shows them arriving by car, looking rather natty actually in black suit (him) and full-length fur coat (her). Seeing this leads me to believe that the photo I posted yesterday was actually of them arriving at court, not being perp-walked out of their flat. My bad.
The court appearance was brief: They had their charges read aloud by arresting sergeant Norman “Semolina” Pilcher, a trial date was set for November 28, and that was that.
The Beatles Bible‘s account of this day mentions, in passing, that Yoko was pregnant. We of The Future know that she and John wouldn’t have a child until 1975, so it seems wise not to get your hopes up.
Hopes up for what? That someone could go back in time and push both the “Erase Yoko” and the “Erase Bono” buttons?
