During most of the White Album period, The Beatles stuck to a surprisingly regular Monday through Friday routine, but today — perhaps sensing that the finish line was near — they held a Saturday session. It was quite a productive one, probably because George Martin was there; apparently he had returned from his vacation back on Monday. No one ever tells me anything.
On today’s agenda:
- “Savoy Truffle”: lead vocals (George), backing vocals (Paul)
- “Martha My Dear”: guitar and bass (Paul), mono and stereo mixes
- “Honey Pie”: mono and stereo mixes
- “Dear Prudence”: mono mix
And really, that’s enough for one day, dontcha think?
