Tonight Paul McCartney and Jane Asher went to see a “comedy, poetry and music trio” (says the Wikipedia) called the Scaffold, one of whose members was Mike McGear, actual name Peter Michael McCartney. That would be Paul’s brother.

The performance was recorded and would be released in July as an album called Live at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. You can listen to the whole damn thing here, if you’re so inclined:

I just did, and I can’t honestly say I found it particularly funny, poetic, or musical. Maybe the jokes are just too British for me to understand, or maybe being able to see what they’re doing might have helped, hard to say. The audience that was there seems to have liked it. And since Paul was among them, he could technically be credited with handclaps, and that’s got to count for something.
