Today (1967 time) was John Lennon’s 27th birthday. This means that, had he lived, he would now be 77, and wouldn’t that be weird? As with many people who die young, it’s simply impossible to imagine him old.
Well, my time is short, and I wrote what I think is a pretty good post for John’s birthday last year. So I’ll call it a day after sharing this tidbit from today’s entry in The Beatles Bible:
Since 27 September 1967 [Lennon] had been receiving daily postcards from the artist Yoko Ono, after subscribing to her postal art event 13 Days Do It Yourself Dance Festival. Each morning participants received a short instructional message.
This day’s message, the final in the series, said: “Colour yourself. Wait for the spring to come. Let us know when it comes.”
