Today, The Beatles Bible tells us, “Musician and manager Vic Lewis held a private party at the Speakeasy in London for the Monkees.” Only three-quarters of the Monkees were there, however — Davy Jones apparently was otherwise occupied — along with three-quarters of The Beatles (no Ringo) and their significant others.
Other guests included The Who, Procul Harum, Eric Clapton, Lulu, Manfred Mann, and Dusty Springfield. I don’t know if Lewis at any point was heard to exclaim:
But he very well might have.
What a weird clip.
