With a day off between shows — the first on this tour — The Beatles’ management opted to fly to Los Angeles, rather than to Seattle, where the next show was.
Staying at a rented house in Beverly Hills, The Beatles received visitors including members of the Byrds and the Mamas and the Papas. In the evening there was a party attended by the likes of Edward G. Robinson, Jack Benny, James Stewart and Groucho Marx. May have to put that one on the time machine itinerary — sounds like quite the happening. I mean, Groucho and Ringo in the same room? Fuhgeddaboutit.
